Antique Clock Labels

A Repository for Antique Clock Labels

I thought it would be helpful to build a page with photos of antique clock labels so that when you have a partially missing label, you could find the missing information.

Why would that be important?

The labels pasted on the cases of antique clocks are a valuable source of information about the each individual clock and the company that made it. Clock labels contain information such as:
  • The clock maker
  • The model name
  • Winding instructions
  • Setting instructions
  • Adjustments
  • Patents dates
  • Warantees
  • And care and use guidelines
"Wouldn't it be great if information for all of the antique clock labels could be found in one location?"

How you can help

There are literally millions of these antique clocks in private collections in homes. Would you be willing to contribute to this page by snapping a photo of your clock label?
I'll post just the label, but it would be great if you are willing to also send a photo of the case and the movement. You don't have to take the movement out of the case. Just open up the back and get the best image you can. You can send the images directly from your cell phone to steve@cottageclockshop.com. Subject line clock label.
Don't worry, I will not post any personal information or share your name or email address with anyone.
I hope this page will benefit all those who are trying to get more information about your clock.
Click on any of the photos to see an enlarged version. Also, This page is intended as a resource for partial or missing antique clock labels. Most of these labels are made of paper and have deteriorated somewhat over time. Feel free to copy the images and use them as you like. I hope to be able to show the following for research purposes:
  • Type of clock (mantel, wall, floor, etc.)
  • Maker
  • Photo of label
  • Photo of movement
  • Photo of case

Waterbury 8 day T&S

This Waterbury Hargrave 8 day T&S clock is from my archives. Unfortunately, I did not capture a photo of the case or the movement with the label. However, as you can see I do have the model name shown. If you have a photo of the clock case and movement, please send it to me and I will post it here. Thanks,
Steve
